Nestled on 60 rolling acres, Eberle Winery remains one of the longest privately owned wineries in Paso Robles with an annual production of 25,000 cases. Most wines produced are 100% varieta, offering proof of Gary's motto, "the wine in the bottle should taste like the grape on the vine."

Although reservations are not necessary, we do require advance notice for large groups (parties of 10 or more).

Guided tours and tastings are offered several times each day, by appointment. Tours begin with a walk through the historic, tri-level winery, which is built into the surrounding hillside. The tour concludes with a visit to the Carriage House, home to a fascinating collection of classic automobiles.
Tastings follow each tour and feature the current releases of Far Niente estate wines, including a Napa Valley Chardonnay and Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as carefully aged Chardonnay and Cabernet from the Far Niente Cave Collection. A seasonal cheese pairing is also featured. Each tasting ends with a taste of Dolce, the sumptuous, late harvest wine produced by Far Nientes sister winery, also called Dolce.

Nicholson Ranch prides itself on small group, education-based tours and tasting. A typical tour might begin with a welcome to the Tasting Room and a taste of our current release Chardonnay.
Then guests are often led into our Courtyard for a quick overview of the history of the winery. From this point, if warranted, we will break the tour into smaller groupings (we try to keep the groupings to 25 at the most), in order to provide a more intimate tour and allow for more questions.
Tours will include visits and discussion of the vineyards, fermentation facilities and caves. Guests are treated to two additional wines during their tour, allowing them to taste the wines as they learn how the wine was made.
Finally, the tours return to the Tasting Room to taste one more wine, and to continue their experience through one-on-one conversations with the "Ranch Hands."

Carved deep into the cliffs behind the winery, the caves of Rutherford Hill are regarded as one of the most extensive wine-aging cave systems in America. Tunnels, galleries and passageways, extending for nearly a mile, contain over 8,000 barrels of select French and American oak.
The caves provide a unique, natural environment that enhances the wine-aging process. They naturally maintain a year-round temperature of 59 degrees and a consistent humidity level of 90 percent.
This uniform temperature and humidity level reduces wine evaporation and excess oxygen exposure, producing gracefully aged wines of notable character and consistency.
The winery is closed New Years Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day.
Tour & Tasting: $25.00 per person.
