Sonoma County Wineries
In 1970, San Francisco firefighter Cecil De Loach and his wife, Christine, staked their claim in the wine grape business by purchasing 24 acres of old-vine Zinfandel in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County.
In the early seventies, the De Loaches decided to acquire additional vineyard land.
For several years they watched others make notable wine from their grapes before making the decision to produce wine under the De Loach label in 1975.
More than three decades later, Cecil and Christine sold that label and have continued their winemaking skills at the helm of a small family winery with a simple philosophy, crafting exceptional wines from the highest quality grapes.
They consider each step of the winemaking process an opportunity to showcase the distinctive flavors contained within our carefully cultivated grapes.
Every bottle of wine is a worthy representation of the best effort from each and every person at Hook and Ladder Vineyards and Winery.
On 375 acres situated in Sonoma County's Russian River Valley, their vineyards produce cool climate grapes widely recognized as some of the finest in the world. Grape growers of the early 1900's recognized the sites of our vineyards as being uniquely suited for wine grape growing.
If you are visiting Healdsburg, the Family Wineries tasting room is the perfect place to try some of the top wines in Sonoma County. The tasting room is conveniently located northwest of downtown Healdsburg on Dry Creek Road.
Located right on Highway 12 between Santa Rosa and Sonoma, Family Wineries Tasting Room gives you an excellent opportunity to sample some of the best wines in Sonoma County.
Wines poured at Family Wineries Tasting room are:
At Taft Street, we have worked with the same growers and vineyards for years now, and we feel we have learned to maximize the qualities these vineyards possess.
We have identified vineyards in our own Russian River Valley and in nearby Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys.
We produce limited production quantities of wine which reflect both the individual qualities of the vineyard and our own winemaking skills.
Our goals have not changed. We make great wine, make it available at a fair price, and (most of all) have fun in the process.
The winery is located on Barlow Lane at Occidental Road, just 1/2 mile west of Highway 116 in Sebastopol, California. This is in the Russian River Valley Appellation of Sonoma County.
Manzanita Creek makes its home in Healdsburg the heart of the northwest Sonoma County wine country.
But unlike the Tuscan and Chateau wineries of the region that are surrounded by pristine vineyards, Manzanita Creek can be found in a light industrial center, hence the tag line, Great Wines - No Scenery - Never Boring.
The small quantity of award winning boutique wines made by William and Jack Salerno are extraordinary: "Tasting is believing". The Manzanita Creek Wines: Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah are made from the best grapes - grown in the best vineyards - that Sonoma County has to offer.
Should you find yourself in the town of Healdsburg, California, stop by Manzanita Creek Winery, the winery where what's in the bottle is "NEVER BORING". If you are shopping for extreme wines, we encourage you to try our wines, you will not be disappointed, Jack and William Salerno love their work and it shows.
