Emboldened by the enthusiastic reception of wineries to the fruit, Chris expanded plantings of existing cultivars to seven acres each and daringly added six acres of the heartbreak grape, Pinot noir. Since 2005, Adastra's vineyards have been certified by the California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF), which has among the strictest standards in the nation for organic agriculture. Grape growers must farm their grapes organically according to CCOF standards for three years prior to certification. Guests can sample Black Stallion Winery wines around our large circular tasting bar or relax on the terrace aside two trickling fountains. The hospitality center is equipped with two private tasting rooms and a private lounge for our club members. The winery offers a variety of private event opportunities, including private tours and tastings, lunches and dinners.

The Visitor's center is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the exception of major holidays. For parties fewer than six persons it is not necessary to make a reservation to come in and experience a tasting at our beautiful tasting bar. We offer several tasting experiences described below.

Jarvis was the first winery in the California to tunnel a cave large enough to hold the entire winemaking facility underground.
