Healdsburg Wineries
Praised by visitors for its hospitality and unique rustic beauty, the winery is a fascinating, small, underground facility carved into a picturesque oak knoll in the midst of its rolling vineyards in Sonoma County's beautiful Alexander Valley. Known primarily for its award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc and century-old vine Petite Sirah, Field Stone is also recognized for its select, handcrafted quantities of other award-winning, low-production wines: Sangiovese, Syrah, Viognier, Chardonnay, Rose of Sangiovese and Vintage Port. We have also introduced our new Convivio companion wine, made from our Merlot and Cabernet, from which we donate a portion of the proceeds to Clinica Alianza, a nonprofit medical center serving farmworkers and their families in Sonoma County. Field Stone's winery and vineyard estate is located conveniently on Highway 128, the key artery linking northern Sonoma County and Napa Valley (the winery is just seven miles from Healdsburg and fourteen miles from Calistoga). Its cozy and inviting underground tasting room is open from 10 to 5 seven days a week. Its picnic ground, under its spreading oaks, has been called "one of the best spots for a picnic with a vineyard view in the Alexander Valley" (Laura Finnegan, Sunset Magazine). Vineyard and winery tours can be arranged ahead of time by calling the winery at 1-800-54GRAPE.
Hop Kiln Winery
- Tasting Room Situated on a picturesque 250-acre piece of prime property in the majestic Russian River Valley, Hop Kiln Winery occupies land that was once a working hops plantation, and whose former kilns, now on the California Historic Registry, is home to the winery's distinctive tasting room. Hop Kiln Ranch is a premier winegrowing property in the Middle Reach region of the Russian River Valley. The area along Westside Road to the South and East of Healdsburg is a prime location for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay production in California. The cool morning temperatures created by fog and cloud layers throughout the growing season allow for the slow ripening and flavor development in the varieties we grow. These mornings tail off into warm afternoons and often give us a more uniform ripeness at a lower brix level than many other regions. Few properties possess the unique soil types and variations of terrain on a single continuous ranch like Hop Kiln. It is this diversity that allows us to produce multiple award winning bottlings of Hop Kiln Grown Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, and Chardonnay from the same vintages. Hop Kiln is a memorable destination, well worth visiting while touring renowned Westside Road, and rewards its many guests with options to taste and purchase their premium, award-winning HKG Russian River Valley Estate varietals; Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Grigio produced by rising star winemaker, Chuck Mansfield.
Christopher Creek Winery Christopher Creek Winery is a small, family-owned winery with a history of producing award winning, estate bottled, and hand crafted wines. The Wassermans, who have been farming for 35 years in the California Central Valley, appreciate the fine balance between agricultural practices and the quality of the grape. The vineyard, located in the Northeastern part of the Russian River appellation, where the climate is warmer, produces some of the best Syrah and Petite Sirah in the area. Our Petite Sirahs are legendary winners with over 45 medals and Best of Class/Gold Medals during the past ten years. The winery has a small tasting room and gift shop open daily 11-5. Stop by and have a taste of our Syrah, Petite Sirah, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Viognier, Port or Cabernet poured by our knowledgeable and friendly staff. Tours are available by appointment.
Dashe Cellars -
Wine Tastings $5
at Family Wineries At Dashe Cellars, Michael and Anne are committed to creating wines that reflect the unique soil, climate and regional characteristics of world-class vineyards. Focusing on older vines, steep hillside locations, rocky soils and stressful growing conditions, they work closely with their growers to ensure careful vineyard management and low yields. Although known for its exceptional single-vineyard zinfandels, the Dashe Cellars portfolio also includes excellent Grenache, cabernet sauvignon, Petite Sirah and Riesling. To create these wines, Michael applies traditional and "natural" winemaking techniques, including small-lot fermentation, the use of indigenous yeasts, and little-or-no fining or filtration. With a state-of-the-art winery located just off historic Jack London Square in downtown Oakland, Dashe Cellars is recognized as one of the pioneers of the Bay Area urban winemaking movement. In keeping with a belief in utilizing hands-on, artisan methods, current production for Dashe Cellars is approximately 10,000 cases.

Copain Wine Cellars
- Wine Tastings $15 Winemaking practices aim to express each sites unique qualities which thereby means a minimum of intervention. Overripe fruit, excessive physical and chemical manipulation of the must and over use of oak, all mask the subtleties provided by the vineyard. The terroirs chosen will be highlighted by keeping alcohol percentages lower, retaining natural vibrant acidity, gently handling the fruit and wine, native yeast ferments and minimal use of new oak.
Dry Creek Vineyard
- Wine Tastings $5 Located in the heart of Dry Creek Valley, Dry Creek Vineyard is one of the few remaining family owned wineries left in California. With more than 39 years of grape growing and winemaking experience, our efforts continue to focus on the quality of wine in the bottle. When founder David Stare started Dry Creek Vineyard, he began the winery with a single-minded effort to offer the highest quality wine possible at a reasonable price. Dave realized that the success of the winery hinged upon providing that "something special" in the bottle to keep customers coming back for more. Today, the second generation continues to build upon those early-established values. Dave's daughter, Kim Stare Wallace and her husband, Don Wallace, are wholly committed to the quality of wine produced at Dry Creek Vineyard. With an eye toward the future, Kim and Don continue their passion to produce high quality wines while being mindful of the original vision of the winery. Our Tasting Room is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. We are closed on Easter Sunday, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas days, New Years Eve and New Years days.

Ferrari-Carano Vineyards & Winery -
Wine Tastings $5-$15
- Cave Tours Ferrari-Carano owns over 19 estate vineyards in five different appellations totaling over 1,400 acres, in some of the finest wine growing regions in all of California. Mountain, bench land and valley floor vineyards spread over a fifty mile radius were chosen for their diversity of microclimates and soil. Our vineyards can be found in the acclaimed and diverse Alexander Valley, the desirable Russian River Valley with its cooler temperatures, picturesque Dry Creek Valley, at the southernmost end of the county, Napa/Carneros, and Sky High Ranch in peaceful and bucolic Anderson Valley. Founded in 1896 by Giovanni Foppiano, Foppiano Vineyards is Sonoma County's oldest continually-operated, family-owned winery. Our family has supplied northern California with wine for over a century, surviving Americas alcohol Prohibition in the 1920s by selling home winemaking kits. After Prohibition was repealed in 1933, the trailblazing Foppiano Wine Company began bottling wine under the Foppiano name -- one of the first Sonoma County wineries to do so. Then, in 1964, the first Foppiano Petite Sirah was introduced to consumers, along with vintage-dated bottling of other Foppiano Vineyards varietal wines. Today the fifth generation of Foppianos, Paul Foppiano farms the estate land and works side-by-side with winemaker Natalie West who joined the team in early 2008. She launched the first of two new Foppiano varietals, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay in 2009. These white varietals continue to receive critical praise every day along with our favorite grape, Petite Sirah.
Forth
Vineyards - Wine Tastings $5 at Family Wineries Every wine is an expression. It is at the same time tangible and palpable, ephemeral and evanescent. It is the expression of the fruit itself, of the land on which it is grown and the conditions of each growing season. It is also the expression of our philosophy. A philosophy of balance that compels us to sacrifice thousands of valuable clusters each summer to preserve the deep concentration of flavor and rich ripeness in the fruit of each vine. A philosophy of patience that causes us to nurture the wine in barrels for years to achieve just the right nuance and depth of character. Perhaps most of all, it is the expression of passion. A quiet, determined passion that drives us in careful winter pruning to teach the vines how to give their best. A caring passion that guides the way we tend the wines as they ferment and mature. And a joyful passion that makes the experience of winemaking a blessing to the soul.

In pursuit of growing fine wine in our vineyard we use the formula: vine health plus optimum yields, equals balanced, mature fruit. Our aim is to produce a world class merlot.

Nalle
Winery - Wine Tastings $5 Our winery and home rest on land that has been in Lee's family, the Henderlongs, since 1927. Her cousins, the Saini family, run the vineyard. In addition to the estate Zinfandel vineyard, other local growers provide Zinfandel, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with a smile and a handshake. Nalle Winery is about as "family" as it gets. Husband and wife, Doug and Lee Nalle and son, Andrew, run the joint. Younger son, Sam, gives encouragement from grad school in Chicago. Then there's our bevy of friends who magically appear at the right moment to lend a hand. Steve Edgar, from Arizona, still shows up for crush, and has, since 1991. Open Saturdays 12pm-5pm, or Sunday-Friday by appointment. I wanted wines that would be considered among the best in the world. To accomplish this, I had to start with an excellent piece of land and add the right mix of talent and hard work. We're doing that at Pezzi King and we'll continue to strive for and achieve excellence in everything we do. We are an estate winery located in the Dry Creek Valley of Healdsburg. Our tasting fee is $10 per person but we waive the fee if you join our wine club the afternoon of your visit. We request a credit card to hold the reservation. We offer a lovely sit down tasting 900 feet overlooking the valley and we have been voted one of the best tasting experiences in Sonoma County.
